the break has come!

Oh my goshhhh, we’re on the flip side of a crazy first semester! Here are today’s topics :)

• Name change

• “Unique cohesive sound”

• Finished 1st semester

Name Change

I’m realizing just how special and important this newsletter is to me, so I wanted to give it a name: Jungle Noise! There are a few reasons why I chose this name:

1. It ties into my artist name, Danny Lion.

2. I often listen to jungle noise when I’m meditating or trying to unwind.

3. I think a lot of what we consume is just noise—noise that doesn’t really help us. So, I’m playing with that idea and asking myself (and you, as the reader): Am I saying something meaningful? Or is this also just... noise?

Unique Cohesive Sound

One cool thing about this program is that it really pushes you to communicate your vision. It forces you to get it out of your head and onto paper, which has helped me be much more intentional with the art I create. A huge focus for us is developing our “unique cohesive sound”—in other words, creating a sonic style that’s distinct.

I’m calling my sound ADHD Folkhop! Here’s a little slide of my vision.

Finished 1st Semester

I can’t believe four months have gone by so quickly. The intensity of this program was way harder than I expected—it took quite a toll on me physically, mentally, and spiritually.

But I learned a lot… about music, myself, and the intersection of the two. To cope with the stress, I started Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which has been such a joy! It’s really helped me get out of my head. I was feeling pretty burnt out toward the end, so I’m glad it’s over.
